Be Sure to Sign Up and Subscribe to the New Loomis Trail HOA Website:
As a follow up to the September 25, 2020 News Update only 15 neighbors and/or renters signed up for the new version of the HOA website created by volunteer HOA member Aaron Rockwell. It is important that everyone sign up as this is how important information is communicated in the neighborhood. When neighbors say, “I don’t know or no one told me this” regarding important neighborhood news items just remember it is up to individuals to read news updates and more importantly know the CC & R’s when moving into the neighborhood.
As a reminder sign up and subscribe now by going to the website at http://thegreensatloomistrail.org and follow the link to subscribe at http://thegreensatloomistrail.org/subscribe and add your email address.
Please also share with neighbors when visiting them to encourage homeowners/and renters to do the same.
Fall Drive Through:
The Fall Quarterly Drive Will Be Happening October 5th-8th. Ongoing normal items that are viewed include landscaping upkeep, raking of leaves/pine needles, debris in yards, lawn mowing, weeding, trimming, tree and shrub overhang into sidewalks may need homeowner attention. Other items that are always looked at too include car restrictions per household in driveways, items in view that need to be out of sight from viewing of the street/sidewalk and most importantly garbage cans and extra garbage sacks with debris and garbage too as this is an eye sore and also attracts rodents and rats.
WRS and Landscaping Update as Summer Has Ended and Fall Changes Occur:
The recent rain and windy storm a few weeks ago brought more than normal tree limbs and branches falling earlier in the season. If you should find a tree limb that is large near your home, driveway, or yard even possibly, please feel free to place large branches in the boulevard grass and it will be picked up and disposed of when WRS Landscaping staff are on site on their next date of work. Any homeowner is also welcome to pick up any branches themselves too as a kind neighborly act of kindness as well. At this time WRS is now on an every other week schedule for fall clean up and will not be here weekly.
Also, the landscaped area around the curve on Castlerock Drive at the north end will be getting bark in the coming weeks too. Tree limbs and any debris will be picked up this week and normally WRS works in the neighborhood on Thursdays.
The geraniums will remain until the end of October and the will be removed for the end of the season. They have looked so beautiful this summer and are still thriving into fall at this time.
A big shout out to Paty Williams on Sienna Court who watered and maintained the large plant containers at the other entrance by the golf course. At the end of October WRS will store these for the winter. Tulips will be planted in some of these containers too for the first time so that there will be color for March and April when the planters return to the gate area.
October Means Halloween, Fall Festivals, Events, and Pumpkins, and More:
Neighbors have been wondering if Trick or Treating will be happening in the neighborhood this year with COVID-19. The simple answer is that there is no state mandate as of this date that Halloween is canceled. Each homeowner or renter needs to decide what they want to do on October 31st in celebrating or not celebrating Halloween this year. Some neighbors will still be participating in handing out treats as normal, although it might be a different way for children to get treats as safety is important too. Different ideas have been shared for trick or treating for those that participate that perhaps one child at a time go to a front door, rather than in groups or perhaps some people may decide to hand out candy at the end or their driveway to align more with social distancing and wearing a mask covering.
Other neighbors that have participated in past years in Halloween Trick or Treating may simply choose not to participate this year. Some families may decide to skip Trick or Treating all together and stay home and have a family Halloween night at home or attend a local event with Halloween Fall Festival Activities too. The choice is really one that families and homeowners/renters need to make. If something changes regarding a state mandate then another news update will be sent out before Halloween and hopefully everyone is keeping updated by the many media announcements.

Guest Parking and Safety:
Please inform family members and guests to park in driveways, paved pull out areas, and NOT on the boulevard grass. When it rains the grass is soft and can be destroyed. Also, landscapers and other business vendors hired by homeowners need to make sure and share this information with hired help too.
For anyone having a large event please inform your guests if additional parking is needed they can park throughout the neighborhood at any pull outs or on one side of the street as a last resort. Parking on both sides is not allowed due to safety issues in case a medical emergency vehicle such as a fire truck or ambulance could not get through the road safely. Plus, there are many children in the neighborhood and blocking the street and/or sidewalks can possibly cause safety issues when they are walking, playing, or riding bikes and/or skateboards. Thank you all for understanding safety is important in the neighborhood.
If anyone has information they would like to share in the next newsletter, please inform me before October 25, 2020 by sending an email to Kathy Barnes at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Kathy Barnes
