November 2, 2022 Update

Greetings Loomis Neighbors,

The weather has finally cooled off; the colors have changed; and many of our trees soon will be bare. But, boy, didn’t we enjoy a long, dry, sunny, summer? Changes in life are as predictable as the changing of the seasons. Many of you already have heard that the president of our HOA board, Ryan Barnes, and his wife and fellow board member, Kathy Barnes, both recently resigned their roles. Their resignations became effective on Saturday October 9th, 2022.

Ryan and Kathy have served our association tirelessly for many years. We all owe them a big debt of gratitude for efforts that so often went above and beyond the call of duty! Ryan and Kathy, thank you for all your hard, conscientious, and painstaking work!!!

Fall Not Only Brings Change…

… but also brings new and different opportunities – along with hot drinks, corn mazes and pumpkin patches!  At our October board meeting, a number of folks indicated they might be ready to get more involved in the workings of the board and the HOA. Are YOU one of those neighbors? We are looking for fresh ideas for how we might strengthen the sense of friendship, support, and connection here at ‘The Greens.’ If you are interested or just want to float us an idea or two, please email [email protected]).

In the short term, in order to keep the Board membership at 5, we have appointed Sam Menzies and Beth Morris as interim members replacing Ryan and Kathy Barnes. They will serve on the board until the annual meeting, at which time there will be an official vote. Thank you, Sam and Beth! If you would like to put your name forward to serve on the board, please send it to Judy.

We Want To Thanks All Of You…

… who devoted time and energy this summer to enhance your landscaping, make improvements, or simply work to beautify your yard. Your efforts are recognized and enjoyed by us all!  And thanks for submitting your plans for your proposed work in advance!

A Thought Regarding Our Annual Meeting

As we are going through this period of change, several of our neighbors have suggested that we consider giving Zoom a try for this year’s annual meeting. Some of you are members of other HOAs that are using Zoom and have seen attendance and engagement grow. Most of us, during Covid, learned how to use some kind of virtual platform for work or simply to stay in touch with our friends and family. It is not necessary to purchase a Zoom membership to take part in a Zoom meeting; it’s just a matter of downloading the app. It takes only a few seconds and is super easy to use. We will be posting some links for simple instructions if you’ve never used Zoom before. Our goal, by using Zoom, is to increase meeting attendance and participation, enabling us to pass one very significant money saving initiative. More on this next month.

In the meantime, the Board wishes you all a healthy fall and happy holiday season!
