Can you say, US OPEN?
And we aren’t talking about the borders; we’re talking about one of the five most significant golf events in the world. The US OPEN! It’s called ‘open’ because it welcomes contenders from every part of the globe to earn a chance to compete with the top pros in the world.
But there’s a catch.
First, one has to qualify, and to qualify, non-pros, or amateurs, have to beat the very best amateurs from around the globe to get a spot.
One of those qualifying matches was played right here on our beautiful and challenging golf course on April 25th!
Clubhouse Manager, Justin Conlan said, “Loomis Trail was the first golf venue in the US to fill up”. This was mainly due to our friends from across the border, but we also had people from as far away as Texas.
The tournament also featured 3-5 local talents who fought for a spot. One was Sunny Park; he works in the Loomis Pro shop and is known by several of our neighbors. Those who finished in the top five earned the right to play at the next event in Tacoma. The winners from Tacoma will punch their ticket to the Open, which will be held in Los Angeles June 15-18th.
A few of our Loomis neighbours were seen out cheering their local favorites on!

What would you like to do?
The board desires to continue looking for ways neighbors can help, serve, and support others. If there is something you’d like to offer to do, please contact me directly at [email protected]. We currently could use help on any of these committees. If you have a new committee idea you’d like to suggest, don’t hesitate to offer it.
- Beautification- planting flowers and things (seasonal)
- Architectural- helping to approve landscaping changes
- Finance- helping to track, make budgets, and report finances
- Helping hands- Helping with simple neighbourhood projects as they arise, could include, painting, light trimming of tree branches, power washing gates, etc.
We aren’t Geico but we can save you 100’s…
How?
Glad you asked.
We’re asking you to permit us to email information from the board. When you do, the HOA saves money, time, and trees. When the HOA saves, you save. It’s simple, click to OPEN Communication Preferences Form, PRINT the form, SIGN your name, SCAN OR TAKE A PHOTO of your form, and EMAIL to HOA Vice President, Doug Moore ([email protected]) and you are done! Thank YOU!
Bloom or Broom: Spring is finally here!!!
We want to thank all of you who have been out in your yards doing spring sprucing—weeding, whacking, mowing, and planting. The fresh bark mulch and new flowers are looking fabulous!
One of the significant benefits of living in an HOA is we’ve all signed on to upholding a standard to keep our yards well-maintained. This includes but is not limited to keeping our yards mowed, weed whacked, flower beds weeded, dead shrubs and stumps removed, and fences mended and painted.
A team is sent out monthly to observe the neighborhood from springtime to fall.
They will send you a neighborly notice if you need to bring something up to speed. If there is no response or compliance within seven days, neighbors will be contacted by our management company.
Good News, Bad News:
The good news is, we have money in the bank! Yeah.
The bad news is, we don’t have quite enough.
The good news is we have a moderately healthy reserve account.
The bad news is we have consistently had to dip into our reserve account over the last few years to meet our general operating expenses.
The good news is we haven’t had to raise monthly dues since 2016.
The bad news is if we don’t raise the monthly dues, our reserve account will continue to decline.
The good news is, if we raise the dues by $30.00 a month by July 1st, we can bring them back up to even par by December 31st.
The bad news is there are already a few capital improvements that need to be made. The one affecting most of us is the front gate. Over time, wear, tear, and daily use are calling for significant repairs.
The good news is if we raise the dues, we can make this improvement and start to prepare for others without overly impacting our depleted reserves.
Finally, rather than create a special assessment, the board has decided to raise the dues for 6 months and then re-evaluate. Our goal is to maintain our common spaces and assets with a long-term view of sustainability. We will attempt to do so as openly and transparently as we possibly can.
If you have any comments or feedback for the board about anything, please click here we’d love to hear them.
