In efforts to share information to the HOA regarding keeping neighbors updated of a suspicious unknown person that was riding a bike in the neighborhood it is important to share this encounter that a neighbor had at about 3:30pm yesterday on Ashbury Court. The neighbor reported the following detailed observation and comments made by the 30 year old (age estimated) male individual.
Incident Happened on Wednesday May 11, 2022 about 3:30 pm.
“I was walking solo a short while ago and was confronted by a man on a black bicycle wearing a black backpack. A little rough around the edges, wanted to talk about the mushrooms he just picked and then his drunk relative. I was uneasy after he kept circling round to talk.”
He also, shared the person came from the green gated property on Ashbury Court. The person said he was back there thinking there was a bike trail, but found mushrooms instead. He also noticed a neighbor happened to drive by and took a picture he thought of him and/or the bicyclist. (Perhaps a neighbor did do this and could share this with the Sheriff’s Office)
The reporting neighbor did actually talk to another neighbor living on Ashbury Court too and he asked the neighbor if she had seen this guy before and she informed him that she had not.
The reporting neighbor reported the male was wearing a clean white cotton undershirt and he could vividly see that his arms were tattooed randomly with various symbols in his observations.
In summary, it is best to share this information to neighbors as “a heads up to the HOA neighborhood” as a safety measure in case anyone else encountered or saw this person yesterday too. Please discuss and share this incident with family members, walkers, joggers and especially younger kids that walk the neighborhood on a regular basis.
The neighbor did file a Suspicious Person Report with the Sheriff’s Office today. If anyone else saw or sees anyone in the neighborhood with what might be an awkward discussion and/or behaviors that they are not comfortable; it never hurts to make a report. It is better to be safe than sorry.
Sometimes conversations can be bizarre such as the one the neighbor had, but he was trying to enjoy a walk and the person continued to ride his bike around him making him uncomfortable.
Also, this afternoon I also asked a few neighbors to check their security cameras to see if anything could be seen at the end Ashbury Court yesterday and two people confirmed nothing showed up.
I also called Judy Hamner the HOA Property Manager and discussed the incident to her late this afternoon. She reported that no homeowners contacted her regarding this incident all.
Thanks to our kind neighbor for reporting this, as it never hurts to keep our eyes out for each other. If anyone else has more to add, please also file a report with the Sheriff’s Office too.
