Rain, Rain Go Away So The Flooding Stops in the Neighborhood From the Excessive Rain Happening and Continuing Through Tomorrow:
This is an update on the rain fall and flooding from the pond overflow happening near Cambridge Loop and Ashbury Court in the neighborhood. Overnight, since yesterday the rain and flooding has progressed and increased on some of the roads which are now affected with signs to NOT drive on the roads. WRS and his crew did an assessment early this morning and provided an update.
For those new to the neighborhood, this type of flooding has only happened one other time (not to this degree though with the continued rainfall that has been happening) several years ago and after clearing up clogged drains it subsided quickly. WRS and his crew checked all four drains and they are not clogged and the water is flowing properly. The problem is that the rain is excessive like in other parts of Whatcom and Skagit Counties and it just keeps raining. The weather forecast is that it will continue through tomorrow.
WRS has posted signs to not drive through areas for safety of neighbors driving. Please Obey the Signage. The winds are heavy and they plan to place sandbags on the legs of the signs in the next few hours. WRS will monitor the flooding throughout the day and at this time “Mother Nature” is not something we have control of with the heavy rain and continued winds expected. Let’s all hope for the rain to stop or lessen very soon as this is something WRS and our neighbors do not have control of.
