Holiday Lights – Just One of the Many Homes on Castlerock Drive:

Thanks to all the neighbors that have made the neighborhood festive with their lights on their homes and the additional decor. If you have not driven at night through the neighborhood or taken a walk I would encourage you to do so.  Heather Jackson will be contacting neighbors with some special awards for those that braved the rainy and cold days to put lights up.  We hope each year to keep the holiday spirit alive with making the neighborhood a fun and festive place to live.

AGM (Annual General Meeting):

The Annual General Meeting will not be held in person for 2021 this year due to Covid-19 restrictions and gathering of social events, as well as meetings.  This meeting is normally held at the Loomis Trail Golf Course Meeting Room at the end of January. Instead, Judy Hamner of Elite Management Company is mailing out informative packets about our HOA, The President’s Report, Voting Ballots (listing interested volunteers willing to serve on the 2021 Board of Directors), and Business Reports too.   Only homeowners that have paid their dues will be able to vote. Renters are not allowed to vote.

It is very important to read and review the information when you receive it as the ballot will need to be returned in a self-stamped envelope to Judy’s office. The packet will be mailed out very soon, so watch your mail box for this information to arrive, especially for those that may be out of the area or out of town for the holidays.    If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Judy at:

Parking and Boulevards:

This is the time of the year when the grass boulevards are extremely wet. Homeowners, renters, guests, and vendors cannot park in the grass as it leaves muddy areas from tires sinking into the wet and muddy areas which cost money to repair.  Homeowners will be contacted if it is noticed that their personal vehicles possibly caused damage to grass areas and possible fines will be assessed.

Since it is the holidays, more guests may visit, so please remind family and friends to park in the paved pullouts or driveways only.

Homes for Sale:

Currently there are two homes for sale and a new home will begin construction very soon as well as plans have been approved by the board. When homes are under construction, please respect the home owner and the builder by keeping off the property too for safety reasons.

Blaine Community, Our Local Businesses, and Neighbors in Loomis Trail:

We all know that Covid-19 has caused business loss for our local businesses.  Please try hard to support our downtown Blaine and Birch Bay businesses of all kinds, especially restaurants that are struggling to survive keeping their businesses open and employees working.

Many neighbors are working from home too and others could possibly be struggling too with job loss, isolation, and personal issues.  Perhaps this week, make a special effort to wave or say “Hello” to someone as this little gesture of kindness may make a person’s day better.  Kindness can go a long way at this time, especially during the holidays when some neighbors may be alone or not able to gather with family.

For neighbors that have possibly had Covid-19 or you know someone that has had the virus or even may have possibly lost a family member, friend or co-worker during 2020, please know there is HOPE for a brighter year ahead.  The 2020 year has been one of many challenges for families, children not able to attend school, and our neighbors that have also not been able to cross the border to come to their homes and/or visit relatives too.

Many neighbors during this past year have had personal illnesses of all kinds beyond Covid-19.  So a sincere thank you to many neighbors that have provided support, food, lawn mowing, weeding, and just a listening ear when in need by several neighbors.  You know who you are, so KUDOS to all that supported those in need.

An Excellent Reliable Truck for Sale:

If anyone is looking for a well-kept safe truck, please share this information.  Fred and Laura Howell are selling a beautiful GMC 2002 2500 HD SLE Truck with a Snug Canopy.  Their truck has been well cared for and has been in their garage.  It has a roof rack, tow package, new rear brakes and rotors.  The tires are high quality new Les Schwab tires.  The truck has 148,000 miles and they have been the only owners. All maintenance of the truck has been done on schedule and the truck has never missed a planned timed oil change either.  This is an excellent truck and very reliable for $8500 or Best Offer.  For information call (360) 656-6822 or email Laura at [email protected] for any other details and to schedule a time to look at the truck.  They live in our neighborhood so it will be easy to schedule an appointment.

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Stay Safe, and Healthy!
